Gameplay
There are multiple entities and activities that make up the gameplay for the user. Here we list what is currently in the short-term roadmap.
Entities
The entities the user interacts with are completely owned by the user in the form of an NFT. Once they are minted, they can be kept to play with, make profit and sell or rent to others.
Jockeys
Jockeys are the horseback riders. Jockeys are essential to the game as you will need them to train horses, and also participate in games. Naturally, for a race you need a horse and a jockey. Both of them backed by an NFT. A jockey that trains with a particular horse builds a relationship with that horse and they become a better pair at riding together. This means that if you train your horse with one jockey and participate in a race with that same pair, you will get a higher chance of winning!
Jockeys can be rented or sold on the jockey marketplace. You can list your jockey to be rented for a pre-set amount of time, so that other players can use the jockey to train their horses or participate in races. This allows them to add value to their horses or gain tokens from participation and you will of course get paid for lending out your NFT.
In addition to this, jockeys can be strengthened by buying items and gaining skills. By combining these things, your jockey can outperform other jockeys in races!
Horses
We love horses! So do you. Horses, like jockeys, are essential to the game. They too are backed by an NFT. Horses need to be bred before they can be trained or raced with (more on this in the next section). Horses can be either male (stallion) or female (mare). Similar to jockeys, you can increase your chances of winning by buying items for horses and train them.
Stables
Stables are part of what makes Stable Empires unique. Stables allow users to breed, train and household horses. They are owned by a user through an NFT. The capacity for a stable start with 5 horses, of which one can be pregnant.
Racing tracks
Owning racing tracks means owning the house. Stable Empires allows users to own a racing track and make other players use the racing tracks for a commission. Initially race track owners will receive allocations from the race-to-earn model if their track is selected for the race. After that, when the betting phase begins, there will be a world map style interface to select race tracks. Race tracks will be allocated during phase transitions leading to a fair distribution among the players, allowing a true peer-to-peer experience.
Activities
There are multiple activities a user can carry out in the game, all of which can be both fun and profitable.
Breeding
New horse NFTs can be minted through the process of breeding. For breeding, there are three things you need. First, you need an unpaired stallion (male horse) and an unpaired, non-pregnant mare (female horse). In addition to having these two horses, you also need a stable with enough capacity. By default, stables have capacity for 5 horses of which one can be pregnant.
You as the player can start the breeding process. Once the breeding process has started, the mare will not be able to be either trained or raced with as she will now be pregnant. For the stallion, a stamina reduction will reduce the chances of him winning.
Training
Horses need training. They can do so by spending time with a jockey at a stable, during which the jockey and horse are unable to race. Once a horse is trained more, it will gain skills that allow it to win with a higher chance. Horses and jockeys build a relationship when they train together. This relationship is useful as it increases your chances of winning one you are racing! If you play the same jockey with another horse, or the same horse with another jockey, you will lose this advantage.
Racing
Racing is where the fireworks are in the game. In a race, players come together through the race-matching interface. Some players join with a horse-jockey pair to race with, some players do the betting and some player offers their racetrack.
Inflationary phase
During phase one and two, which is are the inflationary epochs, the only racetrack will owned centrally. This is because during this period players will race-to-earn, meaning one can earn tokens (STABLE coin) by joining races. The earlier the jockey-horse pair finishes, the more STABLE coin you can earn.
Post-inflationary phase
After the inflationary phase is finished, more racetrack NFTs can be minted, meaning owners will be able to own their own racetrack for others to race on! Now people can come together to race and bet on the jockeys with their horses.
Renting
Jockeys can be rented out to other people through the Jockey Marketplace. By renting out a jockey for a period of time, the lending player can earn a rental fee and the borrower can either train their horses or use the jockey to race with, and with that earn some tokens. This means you can monetise your jockey in multiple ways.
Hosting
In phase 3 and 4, if you have a jockey, you can freeze your jockey into a racetrack. This will allow you to host games for other people, and make a profit with it!
3D Gameplay (phase 5)
To make the game even more immersive, 3D gameplay will become part of the gaming experience.
